ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In the summer of 1993, my wife and I were on vacation at the seaside on the island of La Maddalena in Sardinia. One sunny day, a charming and friendly spotted dog arrived on the beach and greeted us, then posed as if to have his picture taken. I had my Nikon with me and immediately snapped a few photos of the dog against the backdrop of rounded rocks. A few days later, upon returning to Rome, I felt the urge to create a painting based on the photograph of the posing dog. What you see is the result of that memory.
