ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In June 1996, my wife and I went on vacation to Sardinia. One sunny day, we were alone on a deserted beach. After swimming in the crystal-clear water, my wife took off her swimsuit and pinned her hair back. The image of her pink and yellow back against the blue sea and sky struck me and remained imprinted in my mind. A few days later, upon returning to Rome, I felt the urge to paint that image. What you see is the result of that impression, which remained with me.
